Site description

Site is on an esker complex and centered around two augered boreholes (NGO-DD-2008 and NGO-DD15-2028) both of which contain thermistor strings. The surrounding area lies at a lower elevation and is bordered by lakes to the North, West and South. Towards the east is a large bedrock heave surface that extends its larger area to a very big lake. The surface looks dry with vegetation (shrubs, sedges and mosses) with patches of bare ground surface at many points. This bare surface is composed of sands and gravels. There are four sub-plots. There are six instruments at the site: NGO-DD-2008;NGO-DD-2008_ST01;NGO-DD-2008_ST02;NGO-DD-2008_ST03;NGO-DD-2008_ST04; NGO-DD-2028.
