Butte sableuse, sommet (TOP)

Top of the permafrost mound, July 11, 2021. An instrumentation tower (on the right) supports a data acquisition system into which the thermistors are connected. Two groundwater monitoring wells, a snow pole and two casings containing data acquisition systems for water content and temperature probes (on the left) are used to measure respectively the groundwater level, the height of the snow cover and the unfrozen water content and temperature of the ground.
