Site description
The Sheldrake River is a 25 km long river that flows through a watershed characterized by permafrost and vegetation gradients. The upstream areas of the watershed are characterized by forest-tundra vegetation and degraded sporadic permafrost. The downstream areas have shrub-tundra vegetation and discontinuous permafrost. The river discharges into Hudson Bay 8 km north of Umiujaq.
