The Immatsiak 2 station is located in a depression at the base of a sandy permafrost mound in the Vallée-des-Trois.
Site description
It is surrounded by one meter tall shrubs.
Near this station, there are several permafrost mounds that formed in frost-susceptible silt.
The drainage network is poorly defined in this sector of the watershed.
The bedrock consists of 28.6 meter deep basalt.
