The Immatsiak station 1 is located upstream of a small permafrosted watershed in Vallée-desTrois which opens to the north end of Lake Guillaume-Delisle.
Site description
It is on a open sandy plateau at an elevation of 150 m between the front of a cuesta in the West and the Umiujaq hill in the East.
There is no shrubby vegetation on the plateau and any accumulation of water on the surface.
The bedrock consists of 25 m deep basalt.
