Site location
Lake located on the northern coastline of Ellesmere Island. Lakes C1 and C2 are located in the same valley, on the edge of Taconite Inlet.
Site description
Lake with a maximal depth of 65 m, a lake area of 1.1 km2, and a rocky catchment area of 3.3 km2 without glaciers. This meromictic lake has a mixed layer of about 6 m. Lake C1 had a perennial ice cover until recently.
