Fiord located on the northern coast of Ellesmere Island.
Site description
This fiord is deeper than 185 m and has a surface area of 118.9 km2. The Ayles Ice Shelf spanned the mouth of Ayles Fiord in the 1950s. After a break-up event in the early 1960s, multi-year landfast sea ice impound the fiord and it contained a shallow ice-dammed lake in 2007.
