Site location
Lake located on the northern coastline of Ellesmere Island. Lakes C1, C2 and C3 are located in the same valley, on the edge of Taconite Inlet.
Site description
Lake with a maximal depth of 51 m and a lake area of 1.7 km2. The rocky catchment of 10.8 km2 rises to 880 m. Unlike lakes C1 and C2, Lake C3 is fresh and chemical stratification is weak. Lake C3 had a perennial ice cover until recently.
