Site location
Lake located on the northern coastline of Ellesmere Island. Lakes C1, C2 and C3 are located in the same valley, on the edge of Taconite Inlet.
Site description
Lake with a maximal depth of 84 m and a lake area of 1.8 km2. The rocky catchment area of 23,5 km2 is glacierized and rises to 1200 m. Lake C2 is meromictic and has a mixed layer of 19 m. Lake C2 had a perennial ice cover until recently.
