CEN project

Lake located on the northern coastline of Ellesmere Island. Lakes C1, C2 and C3 are located in the same valley, on the edge of Taconite Inlet.

Lake with a maximal depth of 65 m, a lake area of 1.1 km², and a rocky catchment area of 3.3 km² without glaciers that rises to less than 100 m. This meromictic lake has a mixed layer of about 6 m. Lake C1 had a perennial ice cover until recently.
