Sous-site: MRPILLB / Géologie de surface: Till avec monticules de terre / Végétation: Toundra arbustive dominée par des arbustes à feuilles persistantes, des bouleaux et des saules de petite taille et du carex.
Illisarvik is the site of a long-term experiment in permafrost growth and conditions in and around a drained lake (Mackay 1997; Mackay and Burn 2002). The three primary soil environments in Illisarvik and the surrounding terrain are the drained lake basin
Subsite: MRPILLA / Surficial geology: Ice-rich, high-centre peat polygons with degrading ice wedges under pools of standing water. Peat is more than 300 cm thick. / Vegetation: Peat polygon tundra dominated by evergreen shrubs and low birch.
