Sampling around the Centre for Northern Studies research station (SILA network) on Bylot Island, off the northern tip of Baffin Island, Nunavut, Canada, 85 km from the village of Pond Inlet. Northern limit of the polar tundra, continuous permafrost. Sites in the Qarlikturvik Valley south of the island, ice-wedge polygon area.
