Site description

   
Subsite: Humid zone / Surficial geology: Poorly consolidated sandstone and shale (Lancaster formation). Cretaceous/Tertiary periods. Ice wedge polygons over peat and eolian sand (Allard, 1996)
Subsite: Mesic zone / Surficial geology: Hummocky terrain. Slight downward slope (<10°) towards the gully. A gully is located close to the study site and it connects to lake. Homogenous zone (topography and vegetation). No depression. Study site located o
The study site is located on the southern plain in the valley of glacier C-79, in the southwest section of the island.
