Site description

Disraeli Fiord is 30 km long by approximately 5 km wide and is deeper than 400 m. This fiord has a surface area of 143 km2 and a drainage basin of 2100 km2. The Ward Hunt Ice Shelf blocked the mouth of Disraeli Fiord up to 2002 when it broke in two. This caused the demise of the Disraeli Fiord epishelf lake in 2002. Nonetheless, a shallow ice-dammed lake was reported afterwards.
