Lake located on the northern coastline of Ellesmere Island. Lake A and Lake B are located in the same valley.

Deep lake with a maximal depth of 128 m, a lake area of 4.9 km2, a catchment area of 37 km2 that is rocky, unglacierized and rises to 600 m. Lake A is meromictic and has a mixed layer of about 10 m. Lake A had a perennial ice cover until recently. It occupies a broad area of the valley with several inflowing streams. This lake outflows directly to the Arctic Ocean.
