Coordinates of retrogressive thaw slumps
Description
The data is in the form of five txt files, each containing a list of the spatial coordinates (decimal degrees in WGS84) of the approximate centroids of retrogressive thaw slumps (RTS) that were active in a given part of the western Canadian Arctic between 1984-2018. The entry for each RTS includes its dates of activity (year of initiation and year of stabilisation), and a code for the location of RTS initiation (C: on the coast; R: on a riverbank; L: on a lakeshore; S: on a slope away from the coast, riverbank or lakeshore). RTS that were already active at the start of the record are coded as starting in 1900. RTS that were still active at the end of the record are coded as ending in 2100. The data were developed by visual observation using Google Earth Engine Timelapse. Errors of omission are assessed as less than 10% and errors of commision are assessed as about 1%.
